It is a person who accompanies your pet on their airline travels, ensuring they make it safely to their destination and their awaiting human. A flight nanny typically refers to a person responsible for transporting a small pet with them in the cabin of a commercial aircraft. An air chaperone is a person responsible for a pet that is too large to travel in the cabin and instead travels in the cargo hold. The air chaperone travels on the same flight, coordinating with the ground crews at the departure and destination airports, making sure your pet has a seamless trip. 

Each job has different, but equally important, responsibilities. Whichever way your pet travels, Sky Paws is with them every mile of the way! 

Plan ahead! It’s never too early to contact Sky Paws about your pet’s travel. A month or more is best. Only a certain number of pets are allowed on each commercial flight, so booking with us early will give you more options (and typically, better fares). You’ll also want time for other preparations to ensure a smooth journey for your furry family member. 

Sky Paws can accompany your pet anywhere in the U.S. and to worldwide destinations allowable by law. We offer airport-to-airport or door-to-door service. We do not offer ground transport only.

Your pet’s size is the determining factor. For a pet to travel in the cabin, they must fit comfortably in a carrier that is small enough to be stowed under the passenger seat. The exact dimensions may vary slightly depending on the airline, or the specific aircraft in use. Sky Paws can help you determine if cabin travel is an option for your pet.  

We understand your concerns and we take very seriously the responsibility of caring for your beloved pet. Our expertise in the travel industry and experience caring for animals gives us the skills to provide a safe and smooth journey for your pet. We’ll make sure your pet has water, food, exercise, and a clean, comfortable crate/carrier for the duration of their trip. Most journeys are smooth sailing. But even if an unforeseen delay occurs, we’ll stay with and assist your pet until you’re happily reunited. You can trust Sky Paws to genuinely comfort and care for your pet as if it were our own. 

Absolutely! Whether you’re on the departure end or the arrival end of your pet’s journey, we’ll keep you updated with texts and photos. While we’re in the air, you’ll have the necessary flight information to track our progress.  

Sky Paws pricing is straightforward, based simply on travel expenses and the nanny’s/chaperone's hourly fee. Expenses are not marked up and we are happy to provide receipts. Please contact us at skypawstransport@gmail.com for a free estimate. We require 50% payment to book your pet’s flight, with the balance due 24 hours prior to travel. 

No. While Sky Paws will always shop around for an affordable fare, it is in your pet’s best interest for us to travel on a purchased, confirmed ticket. Flying standby or with other freebie privileges can be a nice cost-saver when it works, but it comes with the risk of getting bumped off a flight and adding lengthy delays to your pet’s travel experience. We prioritize your pet’s comfort over bump-able bargains.
